after 10 years of using a lift....i got stuck in it tonight.....it came to a massive "clunk" and that was it.....lights out......nothing to press.....panick.....oh yes......20 minutes without a phone signal.....and nothing worked when i pressed it......had 8 cans of Kronenbourg and a mixed salad so i would have been OK for 4 to 6 days.....but fook me....the noise of it coming to a complete stand still freaked me the fook out.....it slowly......made it's way back to the ground floor and i still could not open the door until rescue came......jesus.......what next...!

Yes, I have been stuck in a lift, I used the emergency phone to report it and the control room said that they would call the lift engineer .................................. sure enough my phone rang within a couple of minutes!! LOL

Quite embarassing, they had to get another engineer to come let me out.

there is no phone......not in mine....not after the lights went out.....i mean jesus....you think they would say " OK, if the lift gets stuck leave the lights on" but not in mine.....complete darkness......i wish i had some toilet roll with me.....

been stuck in one myself when i was about 14 it stopped between floors and the door kept opening and closing f"cking sh@t myself :FRIGHT:

I was brought up in and lived in a multi storey (16 floors up) for 10 years during the 1970's early 80's so have been stuck in a lift many a time :)

It was a nightmare during the power cuts as we have to walk down all the stairs holding a candle to see where we were going!

...had 8 cans of Kronenbourg and a mixed salad so i would have been OK for 4 to 6 days.....

Lol, I like a man who gets his priorities right.

On the other hand, some people just get it so wrong. :grayno:

I got stuck in a lift in a hotel abroad - on the way down from the 4th floor, for some reason it just stopped on the way down between 2 floors, the door opened to present a brick wall.
Most scary bit was when they fixed it, it dropped about 1-2 feet (not much I know, but enough to scare the shite out of you lol).

I once got stuck about three steps up. I was there for days.
