This is going to be VERY controversial but..

So you think that the Portuguese Police are so corrupt and wicked that on top of the McCann's losing their daughter to an alleged kidnapper they would plant the girls blood in the car just to make them feel worse than they already would and just to make a case ? hardly likely .. as I said what Logical reason would the Police have to plant evidence ?

No m8 i dont think they are corrupt, but how can blood apear in their car all those weeks/months later they have been followed since this began, just when/where did they put her body and then move it without been seen

*********** Just seen it on itv news that the mother MIGHT get CHARGED **********

l think the car bit is crap . there working of the blood found in the room l would think . if there was blood there and someone cleaned it up it wouldnt be a kidnapper would it ?

I've always had doubts about the parents but never really expressed my opinion before.

If I had to hazard a guess I would say the mother was a more likely suspect. She acts like its all a game and WHY does she always seem to have a sly smirk on her face whenever her photo or video is taken?

They are probably talking about very very small trace amounts of blood here. Its perfectly possible for blood to be transferred from shoes/clothing many weeks after an incident. Its not necessary for Maddie to ever of been in the car for her blood to be found there !

in sky news i heard that if kate admits to the accidental murder she will only have to do 2 years, in my eyes thats bollocks, she should be given a life sentance. Giving a child medication of some sort that they don't need is wrong and plain right stupid if that is the case. Something is not right about them two.

Look at all of you!

You've got that poor woman guilty of murdering her kid without a shred of evidence against her. I've always been suspicious of the parents, things just don't add up correctly for me, but I'm not going to condemn her until we've seen some real evidence or possibly even a confession.

I never said or had them down as guilty of anything, I have always thought tho that they should have been charged or at least repremanded on leaving the kids alone when other viable options where available.

Willful Neglect. Just plain out of order. I hope we're all wrong and the girls been taken and gets found. Still 100% the parents fault.

If they found traces of blood in their hire car that proves to be Maddie's then surely the games up but if they don't admit guilt then even such strong evidence is circumstantial. But just finding blood in a car they have hired proves nothing how many people before or since have hired that car. I sliced my foot at the beach and covered my hire car in blood in the past. How did they hide the body for 25 days ? Surely the hire company keeps records of mileage, how far did the Mcann's drive? Surely you wouldn't drive around with a dead body of whom the whole country is searching for in the front or back seats of a car, where was the blood found? Blood in the boot of the car may be believable but driving around with her in the front i cant believe a cardiologist and or a gp is that lacking in brains. My pitch fork is staying in the shed on this one but i do agree with alanfat that some form of charges for neglect should have been brought and i agree with the majority that the parents reaction has been very very odd.
Seems hope of finding her alive is almost evaporated and now just i hope they find her and bring her to peace.

i can only agree with the first post what parents leave there 3 kids alone in an apartment in a foreign country all under the age of 5 to go out for a meal with friends, who i would have thought would have asked "wheres the kids" i also think they may sedated the kids to keep them asleep and then maybe madddie was sick and choked due to being drousy from the drugs. As a parent it makes me angry, the fact remains if they had acted like responsible adults and not left them alone she would be here now not missing.

if my wife and i had just been made suspects of kiling our daughter i would have done press conference screaming and shouting our disbelief and total disrespect towards the portugese police.

lets face it, the police have made thier mind up. they arn't going to search for her nomore

imagine being told you have killed your own daughter, and you knew you hadn't.

the whole thing has a very bad smell.

the way I see it is the police aint going to tell the world what they know
they must have something

maybe they are inocent maybe thay aint

but its been a long time coming for them to be questioned in this way
my opinion only

totally agree , if it had been any where else (uk) they would have been questiond before this . we will know in time what envience they have because it was sent to here for testing ,and we all know how the police here leak stories to the press .

but there is no body and no motive(I dnotn think there is anyway) - all they have is circumstantial evidence that consists of a few blood stains (particles if you want) and a smell of a dead body. We dont know its maddys, and the rooms and car were rented. So potentially it could have been anyones blood?

I imagine that if it did get to trial in Portugal (I know nothing about Porto law) it would be damn hard to prove the case. Over here, it would never get to court and we would see so much speculation in the press as it would predujice the jury...

The blood in the boot need to be sorted out, but honestly these two have been under the spotlight since the day it happened. How can you hide a body for 3 or 4 weeks with some sort of smell, and as I said they have been watched from day one how on earth could they have moved the body with someone seeing them, I don't think so.

Having said all that from the start something does not seem to be right lets hope it all comes out.

I also think that it should be handed over to some other police force with more expierence, but there is a down side to that who would want to now that all the evidence has either gone or been contaminated, due to the mishandling of the case.

like stated before, i hope she is still alive and well and the truth comes out quick!

as a father all i can say is if i ever lost any of my babies i wouldnt be able to keep a straight face without all the emotions! i would be in peices! the first interviews the parents where soo calm and pleading for witnesses as almost they knew exactly what was going and just playing the part of being concerned and asking for people to come forward as if it was all scripted!

Yes its true the parents were calm but if they was in absolute breakdown and sobbing constantly, people would have said they was overacting, what good is crying all the time gonig to do you have to stay positive and keep a straight head as much as possible. I don't know howi would react i haven't being in their situation but i doubt id be so cool but people react differently.

dunno about over reacting its natural to cry when a child goes missing! as long as its not hysterical with people fainting all over the place and chanting oh my god! oh my god!

they just seemed too calm!

maybe i wrote it incorrect, if that was me for the first few weeks i woudlnt have been able to say more than a sentence or 2! someone else wouldve had to do the talking! they did the talking from day 1 as calm as a cucumber!

thats my take on the situation

The emotions shown at the initial press conference (or lack of emotion) is irrelevant. How many times have we seen family sitting infront of the camera broken hearted only to find out later that they were infact the killer!

If you have a religion, then pray for these poor people.

my opinion on this:

1. i think everybody agrees that the parents made a mistake by leaving their children whilst they ate BUT this does not automatically mean they killed the girl. I have seen other parents during holiday doing the same.

2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I read somewhere that in order to ask questions that the police need to ask they have to first give them a status of 'suspects' else they cannot ask those types of questions.

3. Those that say they have reacted the wrong way or they would not have reacted like that themselves... lets hope that you are never tested on this eh? I certainly dont know how I will react, but I would like to think that even through the despair I can keep a straight hed and try my best to help the police rather than becoming hysterical and useless...

4. Regarding the police conspiration theory... there was an article in a paper (cant remember which..crap I know) but there was someone there who was jailed for something similar although the police never found the body and talked about police corruption...

5. Again about the police - how come after 4 months they are still finding 'new' evidence where they should have checked ago?

in conclusion....

Lets not make any yet because, like the portugese police IMO, have no clue as to what has happened and lets assume ,as we should, that the parents are innocent because I dont know how I would feel if I were in their place with all the despair and yet are being hounded by people who dont really know what's happened...

thats it really... now need a beer after that...
