New Vix images called Hades the Greek god of the underworld..
Also meaning the abode of the dead so will it be a clone box killer?
How ironic considering it will be running on all those lovely card sharing boxes
Amid the underworld of pay servers.

There seems to be a fair few problems with the image at present with users and myself having issues with network etc an issue that was also present in the final Apollo build.
Whist using wifi box will not give access to feeds or updates stating box has no connection to net while it does as users can FTP into box and download images within the Vix image manager..
It can be resolved by plugging directly into router then giving you have full access to plugin feeds.
There is new code implemented into Hades image in an attempt to block clone old or patched images having access to feeds and thus saving the Vix server from being constantly bombarded with requests for plugins from old or outdated images the ones that are generally patched.

Iv not tryd it yet i think ill wait untill it has got some of the bugs ironed out, its is ment to be beter for streming moviies sport ect,

Agree AJT,
I just can't get on with other images and Vix seems the best image fo rmy needs.
Have heard they have a few bugs in Hades so whilst my Apollo does what I want it to I will leave it alone for a while.
They say do not install from a back up so setting up my IPTV and timers etc does seem a lot of work.

I always go back to vix myself, or atv now iv got a genuine box again

Yes they maybe okay timers or backup but being as the new image has a completely new base its best to start compleatly clean and new.

Same here I only have genuine vu boxes at present..mind you that normally changes by the week..

Whats so good about vix over a PLi image ?

I dont think ill get another clone not worth the hassle,

Mind you always had pli on my dreamboxes
Each to their own I guess but pli is a fine image.

can you show me where this code is?

a 'patched' image would simply direct the opkg feed entries towards the new plugin server. for the last 18 months vix has been changing and abandoning 'older' images, even using original vix images on original receivers are no longer supported on images more than a few months old any longer

I'm still using Vix v3.0 build 786 from 2013.
It does everything i want and there are no problems with it.

I can't be bothered changing images every other month and then having problems with them.

i was on vix 2.1 right untill i sold my duo about 18 months ago. for simply watching tv, it did its job and never had any problems with 'new' features not working etc

with these types of receivers, unless you actually want it for playing with, constantly updating causes more problems than theyre worth, and if you have a missus that starts missing programmes because 'its crashed again' then it generally wont last long under the telly lol

Which old image are you having issues with?
Apollo is still supported with feeds afaik
Anything older quite rightly isnt supported obviously.

any info about this is being done because of clones is nonsense. All the source is online so if you can show me this is the case then fair enough. Otherwise should be treated as hearsay

The only folks who do things about clones are the manufacturers in the drivers which noone has any control over.

Im still interested in this code people seem to think is in vix? To date no-one can show it but only spread rumours about it.

IF there is some form of code buried within drivers capable of taking out clones, then by defualt, it will be included in vix images, as well as images from other teams. vix does officially support a receiver that in a lot of peoples view, is a clone, as all of the receivers actually have the same MAC address, and using 2 of the same receivers on a network causes all sorts of hell, so a plugin has to be used to spoof the MAC of one of the receivers, but thats a different story.

if drivers contain some form of clone killing code, then whoever is the biggest team releasing images, for the boxes that suddenly start dying, will be the ones who get the blame for it. it doesnt matter that they have no control over the drivers, or that they dont even really know whats in them, itll be the busiest team that gets blamed

if you think im making it up, google 'adios amigo enigma 2'. DMM put a timebomb into their drivers, and killed clones, but, who got blamed for it, gemini, the image making team, who worked close with dmm, much in the same way, vix work close with marusys, who make the drivers for the Vu+ range

this post is simply put here in response to the previous few posts, and is completely my own thoughts on it, this is NOT me saying or agreeing with any code existing or not existing anywhere, as tbh, i dont give a $h!t lol

much in the same way, vix work close with marusys

this is not true at all dude. BH/PLI work more closely with vu, than vix do. ever tried to get any response for a bug report from vu? hard work to say the least.

so are you saying that vix is the biggest team? so blame will automatically go to them? there are BH/VTi, PLi and ATV aswell. BH/VTi & PLI even use VU's own bsp layer, whereas atv and vix dont.

btw im not here to start any arguments,
just curious as to why people think this is the case

people say stuff but cannot back up there comments, its funny.

im not looking to start anything anywhere, ive had enough of all that crap lol, but, spread across numerous forums, vix make the most noise about their images, with the mouthpiece posting all over the place, and openly post about their dealings with trying to get driver issues resolved. vix is also 'updated' a LOT more than any other image that ive ever known, with reflashes forced onto users in order to keep up to date, so if some form of code was inserted, due to the nature of vix and all the updates, thats probably where any 'issues' would appear first, and in the greatest volume in a short timespan, so vix would be blamed, as we all know how the internet works

posts on numerous forums 'i updated vix and killed my box' would start appearing, in the same way as 'i updated gemini and killed my box' appeared on every forum
