I remember when I first joined this forum it was with a DB0X question (be honest - most of us do the same !) and it was a gent called PathosAl who was really kind and sorted me out quickly and without being an ar$e coz I was new and asking for help.

Anyway, I realise I aint seen that name in ages, has he chaged names or has he left anyone know ?

when i first joined here to sort my dbox i quickly learned the people to take notice of with the correct posts and info, PathosAl and a few others were the posts i knew was the correct information. Hope he keeps giving his help in the sat section as he is 1 of the main troopers there, regards

Thanks fellas, tbh I feel foolish not thinking to search the members list, I had it in my head he had changed usernames.

Like everything else, names come and go, well before Al, came speedy,gav or was it yido then again it might of been whoever, you can go back even further that, its what the scene used to be about, if someone left, vanished or just spat the fkn dummy, there was always someone else who would be willing to step into the shoes that has been vacated.

N3 put paid to most of that (thank fook) cos now its a little bit more difficult to work around it and freely produce images for the belov-ed dbox and let everyone suck on the sponge for free.

What there wasn't a need for was snidey comments from someone who tried to twist the truth.

I bent over backwards not to fall out with Al but he took it because I was an active member on ukcvs that he could continue to break the rules here, until I was put in a position where I had to say that enough was enough, I now no longer use ukcvs which I feel is a lose for us and for them.

Your question should have been aimed at MikeS as he is the one who is trying to twist the situation it is not a matter of being PC it is a matter of respecting the rules on this site, if users don't want to respect the rules that everyone else has to follow then we will have to enforce the rules it's not rocket science.

We are not children we should all be able to follow simple rules without mods/admin having to threaten infractions and such punitive measures but some members do not seem to have the maturity or common sense to see this.

I'm still around and active on a daily basis, helping Renwich, Satsearching and LraiZer to take Commando 15 to even higher standards for our DM500C and DM500S users, which we happily share on here, thanks usually to Abu.

The old (and very petty) 'board' wars are long-forgotten in our minds. So get back to helping us devs again, Ellie, please! Our site has no link blockers for DWZ and never has had. Our content is FTA stuff only, with nothing illegal. So we could never really understand DWZ admin's stance on not reciprocating the same in return?

I've been PaphosAL since 2004 on DataCave and have never used a different handle on any of the boards I've frequented ever since. Not that you are implying this, so don't get me wrong, please.

Yes, some valuable names have apparently dropped out of the scene over the past few years, sadly. GAV was also in Luton and we were kindred spirits. A few years back, his telly went on the blink just before Christmas, and he was skint. I picked him up, drove up to my Brother-in-Law's to collect a freebie JVC 32" telly and helped in install it back at his gaff... No sign of GAV around any more, sadly...

Then there's cryogenic and cydine (both legends in their lifetime)- where did THEY go, I wonder? Not to mention nitr8 (original TC)?
