VU+ Solo2 vu+solo2 clone black hole logo

hi all,

I purchased a vu+ box from ebay cheap as he said it wasn't working, it froze on black hole logo screen, did a bit research and installed early bh release flash and got it working. am still a real noob to this and don't know what i can put on it, i want it to be like sky epg and put card streaming on, also want it clone bomb safe, any help advice pointers websites greatly appreciated we all start somewhere and if you can help me i will help others in the future. cheers guys.

Hi friend firstly you will find it very hard to stream on this stb vu solo2 clone.
I have found that the OpenPli 4.0 (01/08/15) works well, but that is if the vu solo2 you have there has the upgrade of V4 from V2 which it could well be so try to find out what the version is before trying a new image.
If you go for the Blackhole then the only one that will work and its ok for V2 is the Blackhole 2.1.1 which i would say can be found easy with a serch.

thanks for the reply talks, how do i find out what version i have? not bothered about just using black hole software to be honest i wouldn't know the differences between the different groups or releases as i am still learning, why do you think it will be hard to stream to this box please? thanks again for sharing the knowledge talks, cheers

Does your box have a mini usb port and/or sunray hologram on back?

If not, you most likely have a lonrison clone. This is where it can be any version upto v4 (latest but even this is still about a year old).

If you do have a lonrison clone then easiest way to find out if you have v4 is to flash something like this. It's openvix hades 18 and it looks like $ky.

Let us know what happens after flashing.

no hologram will check for mini usb but don't think so will backup and try the flash, will have to be tomorrow as the gf is watching one born lol cheers for the support guys

cheers mate downloaded flash, all I have done so far is install an early bh flash so is it ok to just try the openvix then if it doesnt work reflash with the bh? cheers you have been a big help, its hard when you have to work out the right question before evening getting an answer lol

no mini usb just usb 2.0, installed and worked yay! comes on but cant get epg to work or remote, getting a spinning circle top right corner think its cos its not connected to internet yet and is search for channel list maybe??

Did you flash with v4 flash update or just flash with OpenVix Hades 18 image (or both)?


UPDATE: Please don't take this that i'm asking to flash with v4 flash update because I personally advise against it.

I think then you haven't got a v4 flashed box and it's an older one. The spinning logo thing is busy symbol and it does this when trying to view any channel. I believe it's the built-in security chip not liking/recognising drivers and tries to stop you viewing channels which then results in a time sync.

You have the following options that I can see:-

1. Flash back to your backup which should still work fine and continue using that.
2. Flash to another image but one listed as being safe for v2 flashed boxes and use that.
3. Flash with v4 flash update* and if everything goes okay you can flash any v4 image from the download area.

* I personally DON'T recommend going with option 3 only because a quite a few now have reported problems after flashing with v4 flash update and have been unable to then successfully flash a fully working image (even backed up ones). I've read that even swapping nand flash chip didn't solve problem but one person did say they were ok after replacing rs232 com port and then flashing v4 update. However, most have been okay so it's a chance you take if you want to.

To be fair i will say ketmp, has said to you in posts that if there is no mini usb then the chances are you have a lonrison type chip and they are very very bad to flash with the v4 upgrade, if you did try this upgrade then there is a very good chance that the box is now very buggy and has its problems, the worst news you dont want to hear is you cannot even go back to v2 if the com port will not accept any files, if the com port is still working at all by any chance of luck then there are a few files which i have that with alot of luck can fix the box but i strongly recommed that if you do manage to fix the flash erase and then reflash it i would go to a image that was working before any attempt to go to the later images, I will say that lonrisen boxs are 100% crap and this is probebly why they have been removed from the chinese market, If you cannot get the box back to the way it should work then as you have stated you got it from ebay the chinese will not accept any repair or exchange which i do hate to tell you this but it is a fact. no receipt from there sale then no repair or exchange, so i hope you can fix the problems friend.

thanks for the help and advice guys, am going to try and connect to the internet first then if that doesnt work try and find a v2 safe lonrison flash that looks like the shy hd epg, then try and find a decent card share sever to stream from, thanks again lads, to start didnt even know i had a clone now know what type and am getting closer to getting it up and running proper, hopefully lol

tried connecting to internet and still stuck with spinning blue circle, going to try a different flash

cheers mate option two sounds like a safe bet but i cant find any v2 images in the downloads

I can see an old blackhole one (you wanted BH didn't you?)

Did you do a backup of your current image before you started flashing with other/newer images?

I personally would just go back to that backup image because depending on what version it is then there may not be much difference between that backup image and the old v2 images.

hi sorry been offline for a bit, is it worth doing an upgrade to v3? are there any benefits or restrictions to staying with a v2 flash, thanks again

No benefit really. It's v4 that offers newer images but comes at a potential cost of tuner issue and not being able to use your solo2 (as mentioned earlier).
