Taken from hot deals uk
The V+ box. £75. No monthly charge for people on the XL TV package, otherwise £5/month (definitely should upgrade to XL unless you are on the bottom (free) TV pacakge, because XL gives you free music movies and videos on demand, and free V+ subscription).
Information:
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/dtv/vplus/index.html
It has three tuners (record two channels, watch a third).
HD output via HDMI. The HD content is BBC HD (no other linear channels), plus on demand movies, and other on demand HD content.
It's a PVR, so you can pause live TV.
7-day EPG (verus 1-day programme guide for your existing box)
You can record up to 80 hours of content, which is twice as much as Sky+.
Normal price is £150. £75 for a quality PVR AND HD box is a superb price (£329 + £10/month for SKY+ HD, which has better linear but inferior on-demand HD content)
For existing customers, I think new customers can get it, but only over the telephone, it's not on their website.
The ownership of the V+ box remains with Virgin, which means they are responsible for servicing for the lifetime of the box.
The HD content on Virgin is somewhat limited, but just as a PVR it's a good deal. HD ondemand content (mostly free) includes Lost, Greys Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Day Break, Brothers and Sisters, and a few dozen movies (at £4/each).
This is NOT on the Virgin website, but it definitely is a genuine deal that I have just ordered, and would advise you to call up now and ask for the £75 V+ special offer, because there is already a 10-day wait for installation, which will only get longer when they publicise this.
Just to add, to order call
150 from your Virgin phone, or
0845 454 1111 from a non-Virgin line.
XL TV is £20.50/month on its own, which is the top TV package (all Discovery Channels, etc.). But there are various packages available, e.g., broadband, XL TV and phone for £30/month.
