[c4eva] The following drives have been tested for ixtreme burner max firmware:
[c4eva] Liteon iHAS124B = baseline model
[c4eva] Liteon iHAS224B = 124 + LightScribe
[c4eva] Liteon iHAS324B = 124 + SmartErase
[c4eva] Liteon iHAS424B = 124 + LightScribe + SmartErase (or = 224 + SmartErase)
[c4eva] Liteon iHAS524B = 124 + LabelTag + SmartErase
[c4eva] Liteon iHAS624B = 124 + LabelTag + LightScribe + SmartErase (or = 524 + LightScribe)

many thanks this has worked out well for me with my last writer going bamg on me so close to all this going on.

@ jth do you already have an external drive?? if so buy one of these drive and swap the drives out. or get a sata to usb adaptor but make sure it has its own power suply as usb wont fully powere a rewriter on its own.
 
As luck would have it already have a IHAS124B in my HTPC :)

SCAN is a bit more @ £14.86 but in stock and will probably be cheaper if 'today only' (which usually is once a week), I know some members are local to this store.

Also do we still have to use verbs for overburning as C4eva previously said?

I live about 5miles away from scan so I could pick up for members no problem.

I've heard we can only use verbs,but not 100% shure
 
just ordered one from Scan, works out as the following....

Net Total £12.38
Carriage £3.99
VAT £3.28

Total = £19.65

When I click the link provided it shows up as "LiteOn IHAS124-19 24x Internal SATA DVD-SM Drive". Neither A or B. If I do a search I get the following result "We could not find an exact match for "Liteon iHAS124B"". It's not going quite right for me!
 
we have to flash these with firmware - i take it, it'll be released? (xbins etc?)

apparently a new jungle flasher will be used to do it.
 
cool, got an old BenQ that's flashed with the 0800 for rips, and then this for the burns! happy dayzzzzzzz
 
There's a review from someone that bought it from Play.com "The one sent to me was an Atapi iHAS124 B "

Price has now jumped to 17.99 with 3-5 weeks wait

ive got an external in loft ,it is a liteon dx-20a3p though
did anyone manage to order a spare one they can send me please lol
