is there any you can buy that has a hard drive built and and can record another channel other than the one your watching ?

Im not aware of any twin tuner openboxes.
I'm not 100% sure. But I think VU boxes have build in hard drives.
I have zgemma twin tuner with hard drive. Its external hard drive but you wouldn't even know it's there.
Zgemma will do the same as VU boxes at fraction of the price.
But I do believe VU boxes are much faster. That's probably reflected by the price.
The cost to get my twin tuner up and going cost.....

Thankyou mate . It's for my dad I got him a v8 box but he can't record the football on it and mother dear is always watching the sky Atlantic in the living so he confind to the other room to watch tv lol

finally box arrived, looks very different from V8S - smaller, remote control the same.

got the box setup

doesnt take the usual V8S channel list however when I first connected to my wifi network it downloaded the latest firmware which includes a channels list with favourites set up

Has a built in web browser but connecting get an Error 404 page not found

Interface very similair to the V8S but some changes

Looks like openbox have sorted the issue with channel lists then.
(at last)

As I always say to my Mrs....
"great looking box"

Might snap one up. One other thing @jfish mate when you get a chance.
Wondering if they can record directly onto USB.
If it does my wallet will be a bit lighter.

Are these worth getting if already got the v8s ?

this has wifi built in, so you got that advantage, however box is new so not much support. A mate wants one, so told him he can have the V9S as he wanted wifi

I put my magic line in using MCGamd - and unlike the V8S where you have to reboot the box to activate it, selecting the Connect box is all you do and also you get feedback on screen with the connection - where as you never got this with the V8S

As far as I'm aware the new V9s doesn't take the usual openbox updates.
(I can't test it as I don't have newer V9s)

This was normally just an issue with clone boxes. (bin file)
But surly official openboxes should allow previous updates?

Have you tried flashing a channel list from say F5s or V8s onto new V9s?

Or dump your list onto memory key then post the file name.

So lists are a fook up then.

First backup your channel list.
Then do a full scan on 28.2e.
(NOT A BLIND SCAN)

once you have done a full scan please upload the file "here"
I will try and make a list from that in the next few days.

will check if PVR does it.
(I only use that for TP_PROGS.dbs)

but almost sure DB_TOOL and DB_CONFIG will edit (.bin)

If you can get file uploaded "here" I will have a look at it tomorrow or Friday.
But surley it can be on remote?
Its a shame the V9s has turned out like this.
Normally this only affected clone boxes.
TP_PROGS.dbs worked well for everyone.
