its not them i know you jest but id take them over bates anyday of the week, hell id take the local butcher over bates.

its dragging on and its pissing the leeds fans off but those in the know (mainly lust members) say we are going to be very very very happy (x3) with who they are.

we'll spend reasonable as we're championship just enough to get us up (we have 3 or 4 already / in not out for a change) and then when we get promoted the money will be spent hopefully.

im not expecting a 1 or 2 year success to even get to the prem tbh but i can see once we are back that we wont be a lower table team and will be a force.

Papa smurf has steadied the ship somewhat but Leeds need an injection a ca$h to get them back into the top tier and it's probably due time for Bates to move on, who these investors are is shrouded in secrecy and I can understand Leeds fans frustration.
Our resisent Leeds supporting admin on redcafe is already getting giddy :) but why not it's been a long time out of the top league for Leeds and perhaps now the fans and the club see a way back. That disastrous Champions league risk has a lot to answer for.

Now over to our financial cock and balls up :(
We are set to float some shares on the New York stock market with the hopes of raising $100 million (£64 million) to clear some of our remaining debt, obviously this seems like good news and anything that loosens the Glaziers grip on the club I welcome with open arms. I am slightly concerned as the Glaziers have until now been very reluctant release any shares and wonder if our situation has deepened more forcing them into floating on the market to raise funds. :-/

@ Basil
Totally agree mt Rooney was garbage but I thought Young was far from our worst player in that tournament, look no further than your very own Milner for the ultimate Mr Gash Euro 2012 mind you at least he didnt miss a peno :)
ps get well soon

Wiz.. Either you're too young or too old to remember this...

At Old Trafford, a United supporter blew a whistle... The United players stopped playing... and Leeds scored.
Final score: United 0-1 Leeds United

In another game... Bobby Charlton was walking out of the tunnel and got a really painful kick on the back of his leg. He turned round and asked why he'd been kicked. "I just wanted to give you a taste of what to expect during the game.", said Billy Bremner.

Miggy... We've got a potential convert!

I remember those times Basil2, I also remember when going to Elland Rd by coach the police used to hold up the coaches just off the motorway to take in under escort. The only trouble was that it was there that the Leeds fans would put all the windows in while they had a sitting target.

We are well aware of our financial worries miggy as posted by gasman, two posts above you, yesterday ;)

Sorry wiz/gasman I missed that one its still fecking unbelievable though all the same. I bet the Glazers American business enterprises are blooming though.

yep its bad miggy but at least we are still able to compete with the big boys on our shoestring budget ;)

Players wages are well over the top now surely. 100 thousand to 200 thousand a week is just plain ridiculous. In your honest opinion what would you say was a decent weekly wage for a footballer.???

jeez thats a controversial one miggy lol

tbh I think 10,00 grand a week is more then enough but i doubt if many will agree :)

Well surely that is more than enough. Wiz I don't know if I have told you this but Nobby Stiles is a good friend of ours and to look at him now he is just an average man shopping in the local supermarket looking for bargains. He drives a Vauxhall Vectra. When you see some of these clowns driving round in Bentleys and Porche's it makes you really think what spoilt barstewards todays footballers are. No wonder teams are going in to debt.

kin hell we've not seen any of them around the leeds ground in 10 years.... times are changing though and i want to get a glimpse of the new porche, bet it looks the same as the one from 10 years ago lmao....

superfilthyrichdirtyleeds are on the way hopefully.

And surely he should have been more entitled to be comfortable at this stage of his life then some of the so called superstars nowadays

If a Leeds player does own a Porche it probably is 10 years old lol

Not exactly booming miggy, don't know the ins an outs but our club is bracing up some of their loans on the malls they own. United has survived the worst of the Glazier takeover and is actually on the up financially.
With this stock floatation more of the debt will be removed, 200 million has been cleared off the balance and that's after crippling interest.
United have remained competitive throughout this time and in actual fact been more successful under debt ridden Glazier regime than any other time.
A debt ridden united has been a thorn in the side of anyone wanting trophies in England and Europe. The future will see a debt free and "solvent" united and that my dear is when the trouble starts :)

Sorry mate but your club will never get right while the Glaziers are running the show. They only have there own interest at heart. Glaziers are just back room puppets with no real knowledge of English football. Still never mind mate It will soon be kick off time again and may the best team win. :)

You don't think Mansour picked City because he was a huge fan do you ? His reasons are as selfish as Abramovich at Chelsea and both have raised their profiles greatly. All well and good seeing the club buying these players backed by a billionaires financial situation but it is the club that will be paying those figures back.
United are different from the sugar daddy generation and have remained solvent throughout. It is the Worlds most valuable football club for a reason and the Glaziers knew this on takeover. Malcolm Glazier is no mug and he knows that the only way to steer a course through HIS financial mess is to remain at the top and that's exactly where United will stay :)

Arabs are no mugs mate they invest money to make money and that's it really no gimmicks no debts no commitments.City to the Arabs is like you to an Airfix model its a hobby to you and a damn expensive hobby to them.

Couldn't put it better myself, it's a hobby! What happens if he loses interest ? Mansour isn't spending his own money here mate he's simply using his financial wealth to finance the huge sums of money the club is outlaying.
It's the club who are spending hundreds of millions and it's hundreds of millions that City and Chelsea's brands are not big enough to support.
As I've said united remain solvent (income overpowers expenditure) as we stand both City and Chelsea are hundreds of millions away from solvency.
