Hi Guys
Trying to setup Timeshift on my new Zgemma STB.
So far I have managed to setup recording on a Hitachi 1000Gb HDD and its working fine. I have read somewhere that Timeshift recording should be setup on a different device so I have installed a small 2Gb micro SD card from an old mobile. I dont know how to format this card or how to program the box to send timeshift recordings to this card. I have since noticed that in the setup of the HDD that there is a directory on the HDD called media/hdd/timeshift so maybe the micro SD card is mot needed at all? What do you all think?
In the Timeshift settings, as soon as I enable the Auto Start and save, I get this message "The directory media/hdd/timeshift/ is not a Ext2, Ext3 or Ext4 or NFS partition. Please make sure to select a valid partition type" - I do not know what this means. Any explanations please - English preferred!
Also in the quest to get timeshift working I read that I had to go into VIX and setup a "Swop File". I have done this although I have absolutely no idea what a swop file is or what it does, but it hasn't helped. In case it is important the swop place is /media/sda1/swopfile. The file size is 256mb, the tickbox to enable swop is ticked and status is active.
I'm off now to look on Amazon for an idiots guide to Zgemma but I expect its bee sold out too
