this is what i have done so far

made the boot floppy with the nforce compatible files on it

run the disc

put in the command mtkflash r/m orig.bin

it says

1:nf4sat1 pri master
2:nf4sat1 pri slave

so i choose 1

all i get after that is

port: 9f0, master/slave: a0

it does nothing else

i have made sure that raid is disabled in bios
i have tried the drive in all sata ports
i tried turning on the xbox then pc and going through it all
tried turning on the xbox just before entering above command

nothing ...... same result every time!!!!

i think this may be your problem mtkflash r/m orig.bin

try doing it like this mtkflash r /m orig.bin

just done the exact same thing

im going to try it on all the sata ports using the command with the space

have the xbox on when you boot the floppy, but dont connect the sata till your gunna press enter to send the command

thats what i was doing

but still the same problem

i have got nothing else plugged into the motherboard like cd drive or hdd

would that make a difference

well it didnt for me,id left everything plugged in,it is probably a problem with the mtkflash not correctly accepting your chipset, have you edited it correctly

havent edited it at all

i used one that said it was for the nforce chipset

i assumed that would work!!

think is good but i cant really get the info i need from it(i dont understand it very well)

doesnt quite match up to what it should according to the link

pnp device id : acpi\pnpa000\4&4049084c&0
i/0 port : 0x000ffe0-0x0000ffef

pnp device id : pci\vax347s\0000

anybody able to sort that out using the link above??

ok......... i was looking at the wrong section of the settings page

here is the right one....... but i still cant figure it out

edit: thats bigger than i expected lol

Boot into dos, then switch the xbox on. make sure the AV cable is plugged in, and in the pc, pull out the ide cables going to any dvd drive etc in the pc... then try.
