Other Best Option fpr recording TV shows

Hi,

I'm currently running open black hole on my SoloSE. I'm looking for either a plugin or a different image to automatically record all episodes of certain TV shows. The solution needs to work with FreeSat. as a bonus it would be nice if the same solution can also work with German channels on 19.2E
Any pointers are appreciated.

you can use auto timers for this.

it will scan through the epg and find every instance of that show and record it. you will have a lot of duplicates unless you set it to record at set times

That is exactly my problem, I have tried that in the past. Since I'm maily looking for kids shows, that have airtimes that switch around a lot, I didn't manage to make that work without manual intervention.

what I was really hoping for, was a solution that analyzes the EPG and has a database of which episodes were already recorded.

oh and one more thing: it would be awesome if I could remove the ads from the recordings

is it new episodes you are looking to record?
if so, usually they have "new" in the title or in the show description. so make a autotimer with that as a prerequisite.

I don’t think that’s possible unless you can make a script that analyses the description of already recorded shows against upcoming.

the only thing i would suggest is to save all the shows to their own directory and it would make it a bit easier to go thru each one.

AFAIK that’s not possible unless you set a timer to stop recording during the breaks and it is impossible to know when shows have breaks and you would have 2 files this way.

you could do this manually on your computer using video editing software. its a lot easier than you think.


If its just kids shows, why not sign up to netflix or something. my friends use it and say its brillant for the kids. endless kids shows on there.
