XP Validation

I have been using XP Professional on my laptop for 4 years, as a second OS.
Was always able to install all updates via Windows Update.
Today, for the very first time, there was a message asking to do Validation first.
What can I do?

Microsoft have stopped support for XP haven't they?

there are ways to get updates by 3rd party means

but really would be better updating to win 7

I'm using windows embedded pos 2009 trick for updates.

The main OS on my laptop is Windows 7. XP is there, just in case there are issues with 64 bit W7. I have not tried validating, as it is not a genuine copy. As I mentioned, I was able to update it always before. The last time was probably back in March.

You get 30 days grace with XP. If you used a preactivated version, it's probable that an update has removed the crack that extended this period.
