Been to Rat's, have rash to prove it ;)
Been having a few probs with my mchine, anyways formatted the fooker and got it all running sweet as a nut again.

Just installed nero and rebooted and the fooker is hanging on the blue screen just before it puts up the welcome, hangs same place in safe mode.

Any ideas of how to recover it back to a state where I can remove my data again and reback it up ready for another format ?

Looks like I'm gonna be off line for a few more days :(

If you just want to backup files I would suggest using Knoppix to boot the machine and transfer the files to a network machine or something.

Maybe consider using something like Acronis True Image Server to perform incremental backups after reinstall.

has the above worked if not start ur pc in safe mode normally f8 will bring u up the option , then start safe mode and uninstall nero , where did u get it from , as nero is best download frm there home site then get the keygen or seriel for it , as people put viruses in the progra especially on the torrent sites .

Just reformat and reinstall from scratch mate. Not worth the bother. As you stated you originally done a reformat didnt you and as soon as you installed Nero this happened. So we can safely eliminate any hardware problems. Probably a virus that came with the Nero you got (assuming you got it same place as 99percent of us here lol and not PC World).

But if you've used the same Nero with other computers or used it before and its been fine then try taking your RAM, give it a quick blow both on the RAM Module and the Slots on the motherboard and re insert them. Hopefully it will sort it. Let us know how it goes.

EDIT---

Forget my suggestion about taking RAM out. I thought you meant blue screen of death. Just do a reformat.
