Has anyone got a link for free version of Winrar or similar. Had to do a new install of windows so lost a few programs. Thanks

wow, you should do stand-up. /s
You left yourself wide open mate, saying Winrar is trash without even trying to substantiate why. Half a billion users worldwide would disagree with you.
I'm one of them 😃

Clocking for downloads happens all the time but it would be nice to see new members try to be a bit more inventive. Had you expanded only slightly on that comment I'm quite sure it wouldn't have been seen as a clock.

You can get WinRAR for free on their website, as well as 7-Zip here.

7Zip is my goto, handles zip and rar, no issue.
I agree about this, but I still use both.

Just installed it. Just need Word now. Thanks @spud1966 :)
I've used many office/word alternatives before.
As @spud1966 said, LibreOffice is a nice alternative, but I'd prefer WPS Office.
Whilst it isn't open source, it does look (and feel) a lot more like office by default, but is also free.

Seems that as of writing this, LibreOffice is around 340 MB, whilst WPS is around 220 MB (According to FileHorse).
