I haven't yet found a use for RS232 port at the back of the box. Any ideas?

It's primarily used for debugging, by creating debug and bootlogs with a putty session.

Thanks @PHEONOX and from what I have read elsewhere if the box is bricked the serial port is useless, right?

Well the reason for this is because of 2 reasons:

1.- There is no official bootloader for the Solo2,so if the bootlog crashed,like now,then u dont have a bootloader to fix this again;
2.- There is no RS232 Tool like VU+ Utill or DreamUp working on the Solo2..

Unfortunatly..
