what is this for because you can get istream which will let you watch tv without a tuner for nothing or iptv with simple iptv client guides for both on youtube search vdubt25 tutorials

Any particular reasons for paying ? XBMC is free as are the add-ons. I can see it might save you a bit of time to integrate the add-ons but it worth learning how they work because they will invariably break at some point in the future.
