Two children and their father have been found dead at a car dealership in Southampton, Sky News sources have revealed.
The bodies were discovered by officers yesterday evening at the rear of Paynes Road Car Sales, Paynes Road.
The youngsters, aged one and three years old, are believed to have been smothered.
Police have confirmed the body of a man in his 30s, believed to be the father, was found with the children.
Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
Crime correspondent Martin Brunt said: "What appears to have happened is that the man telephoned his estranged wife, threatening to kill the two children.
"It may be that this man had custody (of the youths) over the weekend.
"She (the mother) called the police and police and ambulance workers went to the address, where they found the bodies."
Police have said the process of tracing and informing the next of kin is underway.
A post mortem examination to establish the cause of deaths is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 22.
