Digital TVs have to be built with a Common Interface Slot and Top Up TV are starting a retail campaign to offer a CAM (Conditional Access Module) for such TVs.

The CAM fits inside the common interface slot, and along with a Top Up TV smart card allows access to its services.

The CAMs will be available, at a cost of £40, through initially Comet by the end of the month (July), before appearing in other High Street retailers over the coming months.

Matt Seaman, Sales and Marketing Director of Top Up TV said: “With the various debates going on surrounding the analogue switch off, it makes sense for anyone buying a new TV to buy Digital. And, capitalising on the new technology Top Up TV can now provide those Digital TV owners with 10 great extra channels for only £7.99 a month plus a connection fee, and no need for a set top box!”
