tomtom go 720

hi all need help with tomtom go 720 went to update it connected to laptop to update and it wiped all of tomtom didn't do backup and when u try to access drive it says please insert disc have informed tomtom who sent e-mail of what to do but can't do any of what it says as not found by windows says device not connected have tried reset button but nothin changes green background with pic of tomtom and a red cross any ideas have look on loads of tomtom sites to try nd download folders i need but no good but i suppose 1st i need to get windows vista ultimate to notice device

does windows not recognise the device at all? have you got active sync installed?

no m8 windows dosen't see it at all when u go to explore drive says 2 insert disc . active sync?
