just tried it and it says the operation could not be completed !! i have it connected via the usb cable. any ideas ?? is there a certain folder you have to save it to ??

you have to copy all those folders, i think theres about 7 of them, to the root memory of your card, basically click open your card and paste them there...have you got the GB map you need ?

yeh m8 wen u open the .rar file u shud have a tom tom folder open that folder and cpy evryting inside it then paste it onto the root of mem card i.e into no folder of ur mem card shud auto install m8

i opened a new folder in me memory card an called it tom tom 6 and just copied the whole tom tom folder that i downloaded in to this. should i try again but this time do each folder individually ?? wot about the other two folders that where downloaded from M**aupload??

i have just tried it again putting it in the memory card into no folder but it come up with the same thing " operation could not be completed " So i check ed what folders it had actually copied then copied and pasted the rest of the files that it didnt copy but still no auto install . getting sore head now . LOL i went into the memory, clicked on tom tom and scrolled down to the bottom and the "install tom tom home " and the "start .exe" files both have question marks by them and if you click on them it says " unable to open file.

right then ...... i have downloaded the one from r*pidshare now in stead of the other one , thats the one with bout 7 folders in it. i copied it to the phone no probs. but theres still nothin to get it up an running. were can you download the gb map which is required ?
Should it just start workin when i put the map in or is there somethin else to add to it ?

dont open or create a new folder on your memory card, it wont auto run....just copy all those folders one at a time if you like or all together...and paste them to your card...dont forget you will need a uk map..its here on the forum somewhere..ill see if i can find it for you..good luck:Clap:

hmmm cant seem to find it..just search on the torrent sites im sure u will find it there...

once you have downloaded all this , extract using winrar, if ots a zip file, then copy and paste the GB map thats included in here, to your memory card, along with the other 7 folders that you copied earlier....turn off your phone then switch it on again, you should have the tomtom icon on your menu..select it and you on your way..good luck

See if this is easier to follow - it's one I've found on another forum & modified it a little bit :-

This version is a working version for the Nokia S60v3 handsets - DOES NOT work on early handsets (or my N70 )

Once you have it unrar all the files either onto your PC or directly to the memory card of the phone (can use a card reader).

After that copy what ever map/maps you want to have onto the card.

So on your phone you should have a load of tomtom folders and files and your maps.

Once all files and maps are copied over, pop the card back into the phone.

You now need to download the keygen (TT6_kg_4_C4Pda) from here :-

Once you have the keygen extract it to your PC.

To make it easier just make a directory and extract it to C:\Keygen

Goto the folder you extracted the keygen to, so in this case it will be C:\Keygen and you should see the file TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe

Now go to your maps and copy over the .mid file so in this case go to the Great_Britain map folder and copy the following file Great_Britain.mid .

Paste the Great_Britain.mid into the directory with the keygen (c:\keygen) so that folder will have 2 items now:

TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe and Great_Britain.mid

Open up a command prompt (Start-Programs-Accessories-command prompt) and type cd C:\ (press enter) it should now display C:\>

Now type cd keygen it should now display C:\keygen>

Then type TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe Great_Britain.mid

It should now display Enter Device ID:

Ok, now in your phone go to the My own folder, in there you will find the tomtom icon. Click on it to start and it will ask you to select your preferences etc. Select the map you wish use and it will ask you activate it. Activate the map manually and it will give you a Device ID and ask for the activation code.

Go to the command prompt on your PC and enter the Device ID in and press enter - the activation code will pop up and that's it !!

[EDIT] - If you use the Great Britain PLUS map from the link posted above - replace the
' Great_Britain.mid ' with ' GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid '

think i need a new mem card as i have only got a 128 card now an the map is 99 Mb on its own ( wasnt expecting that much ). an the rest i think is bout 36 Mb.

the gps reciver i use is a HOLOX BT-321, its a 32 channel reciever, works even in the house and instead of keeping the reciever on your dashboard, you can keep it out of sight in the glove compartment...around £40-£60..
