The following notice has been published in the national press:

PRODUCT RECALL
INDOOR CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
Tesco is taking the precautionary measure of recalling the following products due to a manufacturing fault, which may cause an electric shock.
Tesco 100 Indoor Multifunction Frosted Berry Lights
Model No. 5056 - 36
Tesco 100 Indoor Multifunction Clear Lights
Model No. 5056 - 06
Tesco 100 Indoor Multifunction Coloured Lights
Model No. 5056 - 06
Tesco 200 Indoor Multifunction Clear Lights
Model No. 5056 - 35
Tesco 200 Indoor Multifunction Coloured Lights
Model No. 5056 - 35
This recall only affects products that have been on sale since October 2006.
The affected products were sold in red packaging and all have a control box (multifunction box) which changes the flashing function of the lights.
The product name and model number can he found on the white label attached near to the plug.
No other product is affected by this recall.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
Stop using the lights immediately
Customers who have bought any of these lights are requested to return them to any Tesco store where a full refund will be given.
Subject to availability, we may be able to offer you an alternative set of lights if that is what you would prefer.
