Hi again all,

SettingsMaker Version 2.4 by TechSat Team

Before using this program it would probably be a good idea to copy the file 'libmySQL.dll' and paste it into C:\WINDOWS\system32 if you do not have it there already...

When you open the program you will notice that there are 6 (six) tabs at the top of the screen as follows...

Satellite - Setup
Satellite - Search Filter
General Search Filter
Download and Generate
List Preview/Editor
FTP Function

Initially you will need to open each tab in order and go through all of the configuration settings to alter them according to your own personal preferences... once you have gone through them and set all of your personal preferences... you can then save/store all your personal preferences to the 'Default' CFG file... this can be done by clicking on 'File' at the top of the screen then clicking on 'Save Cfg' and save as 'Default'.

The 6 (six) tab sections are as follows...

Satellite - Setup
This section allows you to configure...

Satellite Positions
Dish/LNB Setup
Dish Position (Latitude/Longitude)
DTT Area (not applicable)

Satellite -Search Filter
This section allows you to configure...

TV-Radio
TV-Radio Catagories
Transponders
Parental Control

General Search Filter
This section allows you to configure...

Included Bouquets
Excluded Bouquets
Limits [max] Bouquets
Limits [max] TV Channels
Limits [max] Radio Channels
List Type Bouquet as Channels
List Type Bouquet as Satellites
Favourites such as Satellites
Bouquet Favourites
Transponders
Parental Control
HD/3D/Radio

Download and Generate
This section allows you to configure...

Satellite receiver type/model/make
Download Data
Download Progress
Download Report
Generate File
Generate Progress

The files generated by this program will work with Technomate receivers if you use the following settings in the 'Download and Generate' section...

Use NDF setting for Technomate SD models
Use NDF HD setting for Technomate HD models
Use NDF HD+DTT setting for Technomate HD models with Terrestrial Freeview

NB
Unfortunately NO UK Freeview frequencies are available... only Italian Freeview frequencies.

List Preview/Editor
This section allows you to view/edit...

Satellites
Favourites
Bouquets
Catagories

FTP Function
This section allows you to configure...

PC => STB
PC <= STB
Settings Folder
STB Lan Data

This program (when configured correctly to your own personal preferences) will generate an .ndf file complete with all selected...

Satellites
Transponders
TV channels
Radio channels
Bouquets
Favourite Bouquets
Favourite Catagories
USALS settings
DiSEqC 1.0/1.1 settings
DiSEqC 1.2 settings

The real difference with this program is that it generates all of the TV and Radio channels into the satellite lists without the need to go to each satellite and manually download the channels from the transponders... and if you open the generated .ndf file in NDFEdit 1.66 or Clarke Tech Editor Studio 3.18 you can also edit the file further... plus you can then save the file as a .cndf file.

NB
Please be aware that this program does have a few problems... I noticed a couple from my time testing it this morning... most noticeable is the tendency for the generated file to contain multiple duplicates of channels on certain transponders on certain satellites... especially on Astra 1N/2A/2B/Eutelsat 28A at 28.2°E and Astra 1KR/1L/1M/2C at 19.2°E

I also found that when I loaded the generated file to my receiver... I then had to go into the 'Satellite Setup' menu and save all the individual satellites positions... this was done by scrolling through the list of satellites and pressing the yellow button on each satellite entry... then saving the changes after all were done...

With this in mind... be sure to save your own .ndf/.cndf file before you try applying channel files that are generated by this program...

Anyway... this looks to be a very promising program... I hope you find it useful... and please post your findings... hopefully any problems raised here may be seen by the TechSat Team and corrected...

Zorch

I think that will all depend on how often/regularly the program's Database is updated...
