The mother of the late actress Laura Sadler has chosen the storyline that will write out Sadler's character, Nurse Sandy Harper, from BBC drama Holby City.
BBC drama chief Mal Young told the Radio Times that her mother came up with the idea at a meeting shortly after Sadler's death:
"I went there thinking we were all going to be in tears and it turned into an unofficial storyline conference. I said we would find a way of explaining Laura's absence and her mum came up with an idea we all liked, and so that's what's happening... The character finds happiness and it's very affectionately told."
Exact details are being kept secret for now. Sadler's final scenes will air on 2nd September - the week after, an episode will air explaining Harper's departure.
