Hi Guys
I have had a look at a pure N L card which had already been "chipped/modified" along with the box - so to explore this scene further decided to read the card with view to making a Fun4 type replica from the N L card info - but i dont know box key
I tried to read the card with Infinity Unlimited USB all set correctly 3.68 / COM2

People seem to suggest that RevB04 cards are not locked - i seem to have a problem though - this is all i get in NagraEdit 4.1

Opening of COM2 was successful
ATR String: 3F FF 95 00 FF 91 81 71 A0 47 00 44 4E 41 53 50
30 31 31 20 52 65 76 42 30 34 4C
ROM Revision: 011
EEPROM Revision: RevB04
SetIFS failed
Using BD3 Key: 4E 69 70 50 45 72 20 49 73 20 61 20 62 75 54 74
Reading ROM11 failed
Closing of COM2 was successful

Basically my question from the info given above do i need to glitch / unloop ?
Any way of unlocking without extra hardware - any other programs i could try - based on the info above - is the SetIFS failed line significant ? - thanks

SetIFS is usually a comms problem mate, check your settings and you could try increasing the error count in Nag 4, mine set at 10, no response count out 5 for R10/11,crystal 3.68 in phoenix mode in proggy software (2.70).

Hi John,

Weird things. I have the same proggy and just tried a B04 in nag 4 and 4.1, neither set to win98 but both read correctly.

I have always ran with nagraedit set in win98 compatability though, will still run this way but thought I would report my testing.

My proggy wouldn't run under 2.63 with both cpu cores running so I always set it to 98 mode and shut core 1 down, 2.70 seems to have solved the twin core issue but the inf usb virtual port doesn't like anything else running at the same time, if I run it on its own it very rarely errors or retries but now with the web browser running I get errors and retries but still writes ok and card is fine.

thanks for your help guys - haven't got a chance to test your advice - m8 watching friends downstairs :)
I will try in the next hour or 2 and let you know - as i said - this box and card were here and both "chipped" at the time i moved in ...... thought of the possibility that the original guy who chipped the card / box may have done something to the card to lock / block it .......

sorry - forgot to ask - how do i set Win98 compatibility mode ?
forgot to add tried it again .....some extra info

Right click icon for nag 4.1 or nagraEdit.exe, propreties, compatability tab, tick run this program...., select win98/ME from drop down menu, click apply, click ok, done.

Make sure EVERY prog that you don't need is shut down even if it means disconnecting frm the net and killing the virus checker and firewall, try then. Don't forget to switch it all back on before you connect back up to the net though.

Just to show my final output ....... hope this may be of use to someone else

This was the final read attempt - I was using Infinity Unlimited USB - remember Win 98 compatibility mode - (get this before opening Nagraedit - you right click it and go to compatibility tab - choose Win 98)

just to follow up when trying to write a fun card 4 with Infinity USB Umlimited - it is not recognising the Funcard4 - (yes card right way up etc etc) - it did read the original MOSC ok - but damned if it would recognise or write to any Fun Cards - so i have packed it up and sent it back to the supplier ***pit - who i must admit was prompt in getting back to me - dont know maybe i should have went for the Infinity Phoenix cheaper model - seems to have been around a lot longer and should be a lot less buggy - but i heard the Unlimited was good - but was disappointed to get a faulty model - it should have immediately recognised the funcard right ? - my dynamite does ok - idea was to sell the Dynamite on if the Unlimited was a success but right now pondering whether to go for the Infinity Phoenix perhaps ..... i dunno

I have this programmer m8 and the only time i had an issue is when I was trying to write to a funcard4 and had it set to PrussianCard4(see red circled!)
other than that, it's worked fine for everything!

thanks - yes by all accounts a highly thought of card programmer - i guess i was unlucky - anyhow back with the supplier now - hopefully get it sorted

Sounds like you aint got a clue what your doing or how to set the progger up.Your last nagra output shows the card has been read and open within nagra seems you've missed this though.
Highly likely the progger aint faulty either.
