Everyone seems to be asking for a channel list for their particular area so here's how you can make your own.
Firstly download the "Q5.rar" from below and unzip it to your desktop. Go to your Q5 box and write down you network address that's in;- MENU-SETTINGS-NETWORK CONFIG
Open up the Q5_CableChanEditor program and enter your Q5 network address in the "stb ip address" bar at the top i.e. 192.168.0.**
in the "file path to upload" click the "select file" and select the "q5ChanDB.kdat" you have downloaded from the link below.The Bouquet will have the names of the bouquets but there will the no channels inside.
Now look at the "Provider freq file" in the Q5_CableChanEditor program and click "select file" . From there select the cables.xml file that's also in the downloaded Q5.rar. Once it's been selected click on "Upload Provider Freq to STB". This will upload the cables.xml to allow you to scan for channels.
Back to your Q5 box and scan for channels ;- MENU-CHAN SCAN-PROVIDER SCAN and select your area.
after a good 20 minutes you should have a full channel listings but your bouquets will be empty. You now need to save that channel list back to your PC/LAPTOP etc...
From the Q5_CableChanEditor program at the top select "Download Channel Database from stb" and save the file on your PC. You now need to put channels you have scanned into bouquets. This is time consuming and I find it easier doing it on the PC rather than with the remote and the Q5.
Q5_CableChanEditor program select the "Load Channel info to DB" and select the recently saved Q5ChanDB you saved after you scanned fro channels, this will bring up your full channel list for your area.
Go to the very bottom right of the Q5_CableChanEditor program and click on "Edit Fav List" . Once you open that you can then add channels into the relevant bouquets by selecting the correct bouquet from the dropdown box at the top and putting a tick against the channel you want in that particular bouquet (use the list below as a ref as to which goes were).
When you have done remember to "!!SAVE!!" or all your hard work will be for nothing.
Now you need to send the newly made Q5ChanDB.kdat back to your PC so first click on "Save Change to DB" and choose were the newly made .kdat will go and now you should have a copy of the .kdat on your PC. From there just simply upload it to the box as you previously did with the blank bouquet channel.
