Protected DVD

I have not been in the position recently where I have wanted to make a backup copy of one of my DVD's, but I tried one today. Would not copy or even put a copy of the PDF file on my computer. On looking at the disk there are two lines on the disc, circular but almost looks as though the tracks have been cut away. Any one come across this and any way to make a copy onto my computer? :Wave:

Does it have DVD-Rom content on it for use on a PC?

I'm sure you can rip the items separately. I'd use Mac The Ripper on the Mac but for PC have you tried Clone CD?
