Play2Dream, VLC set-up

This tool will install and configure VLC Frontend on your Dreambox,
and configure your PC to allow you play movies from pc to Dreambox with subtitles

Usage :

1. Run the application Play2Dream
2. Fill all required fields : Dreambox Ip, Dreambox FTP username, Dreambox FTP password,your favourite movies folder, your CD/DVD drive letter
3. Press Install button
4. Wait until application setup your dreambox
5. The instalation of Vlc media player will begin ... press Next to install
6. We are done, close the application
7. With your Remote control : press green button, and select "Movies from PC"
8. Play the movie

This function will work on Dreambox if your PC is turned ON.

Just tryed this on a DM800hd and dident work for me maybe its just for 500.

will test 600 and 800 tomoz

When i goto install it Avira states it contains a Trojan ?

its not trojan..........its coz its needs to "open" pc to stream, this shows as a vulnerability
have had no issues m8

are u using 500s

on your PC :
press Start ... then Run ... and paste this :
"C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --intf=http
then play the movie on your dreambox

i managed to sort that error by manually FTP'in the var folder over from the vlcf folder, it now runs via the plugin menu, but says directory contains nothing playable

HI I hope someone can help
I have set this up and can stream movies, however the ratio is all wrong, and seems to be 4:3 is there anyway of changing this?

I've just tried it and it works. I must say that i have changed the Atributes to 755 of all entries on tuxbox\config, tuxbox\config\enigma\pictures, tuxbox\plugins every entry that has to do with vlcf plugin.
I cannot say if that was necessary but the point is that it works !
