Blackpool take on West Ham in the Championship play-off final at Wembley on Saturday in what has been dubbed the richest game in football.
Both teams are battling to make it an instant return to the money-spinning Premier League after suffering relegation last season.
But that is where the similarities end between these two sides eyeing glory in the capital this weekend.
Sam Allardyce arrived at West Ham in June charged with restoring the club to the top flight and has been under immense pressure all season to deliver promotion.
Fans have been uneasy about Allardyce's style of play and were disappointed to drop out of the top two so late in the season.
And the former Bolton boss freely admits that their season will be judged either a success or a failure depending on Saturday's events at Wembley.
In contrast, Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has credit in the bank after taking the Tangerines into the top tier of English football for the first time in 39 years in 2010.
After a creditable effort in the Premier League, Blackpool have finished the season strongly, surprising Birmingham in the semi-finals to earn a return to the scene of their play-off final triumph over Cardiff two years ago.
But they will be underdogs once more against the Hammers, who fired four past Holloway's men both home and away in the Championship this season.
West Ham also boast the best away record in the division - but they will need one more win away from Upton Park if they are to avoid a second consecutive season outside of the Premier League.
Team news
Jack Collison has handed West Ham a boost after recovering from the dislocated shoulder that forced him off during the semi-final second leg against Cardiff at Upton Park.
As a result, the Hammers go into this one with a full strength squad leaving Allardyce with a plethora of options to choose from on the bench, while his starting line-up is set to be unchanged.
Holloway's squad also have a clean bill of health so the Seasiders boss is set to name the same team that beat Birmingham over two legs.
