Plastic welding torch/gun

u may remeber me posting about a pressie for fella on the moter racing....still not got nothing, now looking at one of these.....does any one know anything about these......is it for basically welding platics together or any kind so long as u have the correct welding rods for that same material....does anyone if these are really any good or not?

I've used similar waaaay back when I was doing my apprenticeship.

These welders are fine as long as you have a use for them.
The ones I used had a tube running parallel to the air jet to let you feed the plastic rod through.

The rods we used were as thick as a light gauge welding rod.

I you really have a use for it (making plastic boxes, welding plastic flanges), then go for it, but otherwise, it's an expensive dust collector
