Pop Idol judge Pete Waterman's son has died from a mystery illness aged 33.
Paul Waterman died from an unknown cause on Monday, reports Ananova. A statement on Peter's website runs: "On January 3rd 2005 Paul peacefully passed away after a serious illness which had kept him in hospital since June.
"We would like to thank everyone for their kind regards and sympathies and we hope that you will leave us to grieve our loss in private."
This personal tragedy for Pete comes just days after he was honoured by receiving an OBE in the New Year's Honours List for his services to music.
