Hi Guys,

I am going round in circles here with a problem over bios. I put a new motherboard into this thing which is a DAK2WMB18CO. This has a Sata drive instead of the IDE that I used to have. Here is the problem, the battery will not charge, well it shows it as charging but falls flat when booted. I thought it may be a naff board, so I got another one, same problem.
Then I ran msinfo32 and saw bios level is 3A05 and battery updates were made on 3A07. So I downloaded 3A08 and 3A14, neither of which will actually load into this bios chip. So before it gets a club hammer through it, are there any bright sparks with suggestions on resolving this.
Would really appreciate it, running out of hair!!

Found it, this board is predominantly used in the S5 range but is being sold as an S4 board. Updated the bios for an S5 and battery charges, all is well and have a good laptop.
