The official death toll in the Asian tsunami has climbed to 144,887 after Indonesia confirmed an additional 14,000 deaths.
Indonesia has been the worst affected country and health ministry officials have now put the figure for the country's dead at 94,081.
However, that figure could still rise, with the health ministry warning that there could be more than 100,000 deaths in the Aceh and North Sumatra regions.
In Sri Lanka, 30,196 people have been confirmed as killed by the tsunami, while a further 3,792 people are still missing, officials have said.
The official toll in India has risen to 15,160, although this includes 5,681 people the government says are missing, presumed dead.
In Thailand interior ministry figures put the death toll at 5,046, comprised of 2,287 Thais, 2,459 foreigners and 300 people whose race cannot be established.
In Myanmar at least 90 people have been killed, according to the United Nations, but the real toll is expected to be far higher.
At least 75 people are dead and another 42 confirmed missing in the the Maldives, President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom said.
Police said that 68 people had died in Malaysia, most of them in Penang.
In Bangladesh a father and child were killed after a tourist boat capsized in large waves, officials said.
Fatalities also occurred on the east coast of Africa where 176 people were declared dead in Somalia, 10 in Tanzania and one in Kenya.
