Not having much luck

I bought a prechipped ps2 with the mxl2 chip and it was working a treat untill today.
Now when i put a copy in it asks for a playstation format disc.
It plays originals no probs
Anyone point me in the right direction please.

possibly a loose wire or dry koint on the chip m8 or the chip is knackered

if it is a dvd rip or copy i have to reset then hold button till the first screen loads then let go
