Out of interest, did anyone have the same problem as me being that this 'fix' didnt fix anything? Strange old virus this, seems to be very smart......

got to ask m8,did you first delete it from your files first, then run the fix? but i tend to agree with you..

Actually I installed the patch without even having the virus, but after the patch went on the very next bootup I got the shutdown problem :/ So it seems the patch gave me the virus or something, maybe it was lying dormant or whatever you call it

Wasn't there a fake patch or something that contained the virus ?

Hmm good point that, I didnt get the patch from microsofts webby so that was most likely where I went wrong, what a goon
