migrating website from GoDaddy to another host

Friend has a website in Wordpress hosted on Go Daddy. He wants to transfer the website (all files etc) to a new hosted site.

What's best way to do this ?

He has access to the portal/control panel to both hosted sites

Never used Go daddy, but looks like you can FTP and backup the full site to your pc then upload it to new host with FTP again

You will have to back up your database , but like i said never used Go daddy before
