I have a FloppyDTV installed in my PC, latest drivers and updated firmware, Windows XP Pro/Vista dual boot. Trying to iron out the bugs in software before switching over to Vista and using a hard cam with the provided Media Centre.
When I do a scan with the provided software it finds 72 tv channels and some radio channels (Approx. half of what is available on the DreamBox). None of the tv channels will display in the provided software - presumably because of the encryption.
I installed MediaPortal and pieced together a .dvbc file using the files on my DreamBox. Did a scan and it found 122 tv channels which is a marked improvement on the previous 72 only. According to the MediaPortal Configuration all of the channels are encrypted (Red icon) yet when I open up Media Portal and go to My TV I can view some of the channels (From memory: The various flavours of EuroNews, British EuroSport, Setanta Ireland, Bubble Hits, City Channel, Channel Six, TV3, Discovery Channel, Discovery Knowledge).
It got more bizarre - I installed Nagra, Fenrir and Yankse following the tutorial on the happysat forum and things looked good for about a minute. The keys found matched those on the DreamBox and then Dr.Watson reared its ugly head. It seemed that when ever Fenrir picked up the keys the error would occur and MediaPortal had to close.
I made a copy of the .dvbc file, uninstalled MediaPortal, rebooted, re-installed MediaPortal and now I can't get the mdapifilter plugin to work. It won't pop up on the status bar no matter what I do.
