trying to sort mates computer every time i try to open a web page get 403 forbidden access denied by access control list, any one know what too do to get on web sites

sounds like a firewall is stopping you frpm accessing http pages, prob because port 80 is blocked ( I THINK) so try to disable all firewalls first (not the windows firewall) and see if that makes a difference. Check if any other web applications work, ie MSN messenger. Try loading in safe mode with networking and see if that fixes it. The you will know it is the firewall, or some other software installed.

TTP 403 Forbidden or Access Denied Errors

When trying to log into WebCT, some users have reported getting "403 Forbidden" or "Access Denied" error messages.

One possible cause is an Internet Explorer 6 update installed by Windows Update. Some users found that this problem could be resolved by changing an Internet Explorer setting:

1. In Internet Explorer, from the Tools menu, select Internet Options
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Under Browsing , clear the checkbox for Show friendly HTTP error messages .
4. Click OK .
5. Restart the Internet Explorer browser.

If this problem persists after changing this setting and restarting your browser, it may be caused by spyware or deceptive software on your computer. Read more about spyware.
