You can't. In a future release of the Android operating system they are going to include apps to sd so you can install apps to the sd card instead of the phone memory. This may be the 2.2 (Froyo) release later this month. As the desire is a custom version of Android you may have to wait for HTC to release there version after Google have released there's.
