Hello,
Been trying to backup an audio cd without success,
it seems to be protected?
it will play ok in any pc but will not play without being scratchy and weak in any other player, even tried it in a dvd player which plays everything..
have done audio before etc and no probs, my recorder is a yamaha 4416s,
just seems to be a protection to stop backups?, if you have young kids you will apreciate that a backup, or displosable i call them to be made is a sensible thing to do..lol

thanks in advance for any help

This is usually because your using low quality CDRs and/or burning at too high a speed. I beleive that silver CDRs are best for Music and as low a speed as possible when burning.
You cant protect an audio CD as far as i know and as the copy plays ok in your PC it should be copiable (is that a real word?)

Try using silver blue. I have had a couple not work out of a few hundred. Change your cdrs!. If you go to computer fares the memorex precicion 1-16x are selling quite cheap as they now produce 24x. I have had no problems with these disks burning psx, vcd, audio at 10x.

but i have used loads of different cds to burn audio and most work fine, dont burn higher that 8x and copy to hdd first. Oh by the way i use nero to do it

Right it is a 4x4x16
Interface: 50-pin Ultra SCSI
Data Buffer / Cache: 2MB
Format Compatabilities: CD-ROM, CD-ROM XA, CD-I, CD-DA, CD-Bridge (multisession), CD-Extra, CD+G (Disc at Once & Session at Once only), and Video CD. It can read from and record to any of these formats.
So what software are you useing m8,
.....let us know,
like huggi said i to have tryed loads of different CDs which i have had no probbs, unless you have got a bad bunch of them....Gazer.

best thing to do in this situation is what i do download audiocatalyst from download.com rip the cd into mp3 format onto your harddrive using the above then using win oncd just burn it back onto cd using the digital music icon done, always do this never had a problem .

ive got the same writer and i use adaptec easy cd creator 4, the cd copy part for music and psx backups with no probs
