The death of "Holby City" actress Laura Sadler who fell from a second-floor balcony was an accident and came after she consumed drugs and alcohol, a coroner has ruled.
Sadler, 22, died in hospital in June, five days after falling 40 feet from the balcony of her boyfriend George Calil's home in Holland Park in London.
Calil had been arrested and questioned by police over her death but was released with no charge.
"The verdict was accidental death caused by a severe head injury," said a spokesman for West London Coroner's Court on Thursday. "Toxicology tests found her to have large amounts of alcohol in her body, as well as metabolites of cocaine."
Traces of diazepam, the active ingredient of the sedative Valium, were also found in her body, he said, adding: "There were no suspicious circumstances."
Papers submitted to the inquest said Sadler had spent the evening before her death dining with Calil and drinking wine and vodka.
The verdict was delivered last week, but only became public knowledge on Thursday.
"All the papers are saying the inquest was held in secret, but it was a public inquest, and the fact that the papers weren't notified was simply an honest mistake," said the spokesman.
Sadler started her acting career aged six and later featured in the school soap "Grange Hill". She also acted in films such as "Jane Eyre" and made numerous stage appearances.
Calil, who played Sadler's drug-dealer boyfriend Sean Hunt, is best known for his role in the Second World War TV-epic "Band of Brothers".
