Holby City star Laura Sadler is critically ill in hospital after falling from a balcony.
Actor George Calil, who plays her on-screen boyfriend in the BBC1 drama, is understood to have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Ms Sadler, 22, was found at the foot of a house in Holland Park, west London, at 0630 BST on Sunday.
She is thought to have suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Charing Cross Hospital in nearby Hammersmith.
Stairwell
According to the Sun newspaper Miss Sadler, who plays Sandy Harper in the soap, fell about 40ft from a rear second floor balcony into a basement stairwell.
Mr Calil, who plays Sean Hunt, was released on police bail on Sunday night.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.
"He has since been released on police bail to return in mid-July pending further inquiries."
Circumstances 'unclear'
The cause of the Ms Sadler's fall is still being investigated.
A police spokesman told the Sun: "The circumstances surrounding the fall are unclear.
"We do not know if the woman fell accidentally or if there was any foul play.
"But any incident of this sort needs to be thoroughly investigated."
