You can use toolbox to dump / flash, it contains a smart hack patcher for all f/w revisions for the Hitachi drive.

Well, its just as easy as using the batch files.

This set of commands are for any Hitachi pre 78 (0046/0047/0059) ONLY!!!

Older method

Get drive in modeb

into DOS

flashix X ####

Newer Toolbox method

Get drive in modeb

Tools -->Direct Drive Dump

Classic Dump

Then

Tools--->smart hack patcher (select ruleset - i.e speed / ixtreme etc)

Check key is valid, and hacked f/w is loaded

Tools Direct Drive Flash--->Differential Flash (Patch)

Use classic mode to read / detect differences

And use 0046/0047/0059 flasher

Pretty simple, stop if unsure

That was typed in about 2 minutes so may not bee 100% accurate as its all from memory
