help playing mkv files

can anybody help me out i can`t play mkv files i`ve tried vlc player i get sound and no picture i`ve tried divx player plus and get great picture and no sound and i`ve tried windows classic media player and get both sound and picture but it runs very slow i`ve been trying now for 3 weeks without any luck iv`e installed ffdshow and still not working

What CPU, memory and GFX card do you have?

K-Lite codec pack has a MKV codec in there. Use it with either windows media player or media player classic.

You can also try XBMC which I believe has HD hardware acceleration support.

a big thanks to oneman xbmc has solved my problem now can watch all my mkv files
