I'm like a boy with a new toy!

Any help is very much appreciated

close the mp6 programme then try running mkfind

still at it Johnny i see i have found the reason for your connection problem have a read of this
..
Modem Control Register (MCR) error bit 5,6,7 must be 0 This error occurs when the dos software identifies serial port and detects that bit 5,6 and 7 of the MCR is not set to zero.
The reason for this is usally that ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) is used by windows.

ACPI blocks all direct access to the com-ports which is necessary for the dos software to work. ACPI set's all known devices which are not used to it's power down state. The best way around this problem is to disable power management on your comport. It is done by changing a key in your registry.

Windows 98SE and ME users:

Click here to disable power management, then re-start your computer to make changes take effect.

this could be another reason m8
using a USB-modem using a software called RVS-COM 1.63 to create virtual comports for the modem. This software is currently not compatible with our Windows software.

Do the following:-

1)run Mkf4.1 (recycle power to elvis if youve been on mp6)

2)connect card / go straight into "settings"

3) you will see 00 Backdoor key

4) scroll from 00 to 05 the press create key

5) wait + when key created go to Ondigital1

6)in pbm read pbm/modify to required setting + lock
