faulty dm500s - does not get past boot screen

mates has DM500S (clone)

symptoms are

Powers up and goes to boot screen and thats it no further

light do flicker in response to remote control

any ideas .. flash it using dreamup and serial cable

try a few different images, and also try a few different versions of dreamup. Some older ones are crap

& use dreamup

Make sure you set the baud rate on the com port to 115200.
