England v India - one dayers

I wasnt sure England had made enough, but they must have bowled well. I only saw the England innings as some of us were not off today.

India need to change their batting order, i ask this same question alot and still never had the answer. Why don't they open with tendulkar and DHONI, last tiime dhoni was up the order he only made 183 not out. Wasting good talent at no. 6 don't make sense! Also why play 5 bowlers, had they played four i bet the score would have been no different.

Even the English commentators were surprised Dhoni didnt start further up or even open the batting.

y dnt india just hand england the one day series

i have no idea why they keep chopping and changing the battin line up...their bowling is poor so why do they play 5 bowlers...their batting is the strong point (well is supposed to be) and fielding is sumtimes hopeless.

can't understand their selection myself. Personally i think kartik is only good for test matches, and chawla is over rated for a couple of good games in the past! How many good games did harbhajan have?? At batsmen nervous all over the world! And they call Agarker a good all rounder!!! What about pathan, he was a class bowler and decent batsman. My eleven to date if i had the choice!

1 - Tendulkar
2 - Dhoni
3 - Ganguly
4 - Dravid
5 - Yuvraj
6 - Sehwag
7 - Kaif
8 - Pathan
9 - Harbhajan
10 - R P Singh
11 - Z Khan

Thats plenty of batting and 4 first choice bowlers with 4 more to make up the other 10 overs, and thats my batting order too, what do you think?

How England won that match from 112-7 is amazing. A good display overall by England bowlers, surely this is proof of A.Donald coaching. India started bowling well enough and it turned out to be quite a match.

was also impressed with the depth england can bat at. Broad will be a good player for the future, they have to stick with him through his bad times as well as his good!

nice lineup...i myself would put sehwag in at number 2 and either dhoni or dravid comin in at number 3 depending on the situation.

Kaif would be there to boost india's crappy fielding, and he's usually quite reliable to support other batsmen wen india are in a tight spot

England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff could miss the World Twenty20 due to ongoing problems with his left ankle.

Flintoff, 29, is consulting a specialist after feeling discomfort following the fourth match of the NatWest Series against India last Thursday.

The Lancastrian missed Sunday's defeat at Headingley with the problem, and no decision on his participation in the remaning two fixtures has yet been made.

Flintoff underwent surgery earlier in the summer, bringing the total number of operations on his left ankle to three.

"He is seeing the surgeon who performed his third ankle operation later on this afternoon - and we will go on from there," said chairman of selectors David Graveney on Tuesday.

"He's not ruled out of tomorrow - but at the same time, he is not definite to go to the Twenty20, because we have to wait for that medical opinion tomorrow."

Sussex all-rounder Luke Wright had already been called into England's NatWest Series squad as cover for Flintoff and Ravinder Bopara.

Bopara has been ruled out of the final two ODIs against India and the World Twenty20 with a broken thumb.

England have a further injury worry for the World Twenty20 concerning fast bowler Chris Tremlett, who is struggling with a foot injury.

"He's (Tremlett) got an inflamed ligament and had an injection in his foot yesterday," Graveney told Sky Sports News.

"We're waiting for that to settle down and he will be assessed on Thursday to find out if he can participate in the game on Saturday (Lord's).

"But more importantly whether he can take his place in the Twenty20."

Anderson and Bell in contention

Graveney revealed that James Anderson and Ian Bell were the most likely candidates to be called up as replacements in England's Twenty20 squad.

"We are not sure how many people we are going to have to replace as there are a couple of ongoing medical bulletins," added Graveney.

"When we finalise how many injured we have then we will publicly announce the replacements.

"Jimmy (Anderson) and Ian Bell have played exceptionally in all forms of the game.

"But we need to look at the balance of the team and exactly who is missing before we nominate the replacements, but they would be at the forefront of our options."

Another absolutely cracking match, Mascarenas blitz of 5 sixes from the last 5 balls of the innings was amazing and put the pressure on India but they did it. This has been a great series with really good entertaining cricket from both teams and fitting that it is going to the last match to decide it. I think England are really missing Freddies bowling

funny how many decisions throughout the test and one day series hav gone england's way

tendulkar given out again!! another bad decision

meh it doesnt matter i had a big feeling india would disappoint today and they did, they either just about win or lose massively.

why send gambhir in at no 3??? he plays like its a test match. Would have been more effective sending Dhoni & Utthapa in at 3&4 to maintain a fast run rate. Send Dhoni at the end when he has no one left to bat with and you saw what happened! Got to say overall Tendulkar had a lot of bad decisions against him.
