E3 card reader bring downgrader out

thanks again for the link mate ive ordered from it, it came to £13.95 free p+p when i checked they had a amazon shop and it looked like they had been around a while and it looks like and im hoping its uk stock they say its sent by royal mail so with a bit of luck it will be here next week ill report back.
 
no probs m8 let us no how everything goes, on that website who is it, it says its in slough and rochdale but that website u put a link to said uk individual but mentioned chiene stock, so not sure if he had stock in and got form china or whether he ordered it from china after someone orders sumthing, i noticed the link i posted had a amazon shop aswell, should be good with that one i think,
i updated my ps3 to play gran turismo 5 but i had it jailbroken before that with a minimus so im would think a downgrader will come out for that soon thats why i ant rushed and bought one,

cheers mate will do the only reason i didnt wait for the open source one myself is i need a dongle anyway so i thought for the price i might aswell buy now and get this, apparently this doesnt format the hdd like psdowngrade does either it just does something like a factory reset which is handy.
 
It's only a matter of time before we see it for all dongles but it if you can't wait you can get the e3 for around $15.

How to downgrade firmware 3.42/3.50 or above to firmware 3.41 with E3 Card Reader :

1. Insert E3 Card Reader device that has been reprogrammed as downgrader into your console
2. Turn on the console using the same boot method as all other jailbreaks: Press power then immediately press eject. Your console will turn on and E3 Card Reader will light up red LED followed by blue LED
3. Turn off system via menu
4. Remove E3 Card Reader dongle and turn on console to make sure you are in Factory Service Mode. You will see a huge red box on the screen saying Factory Service Mode.
5. Load any blank FAT32 USB flash drive device with 2 files in the root directory:
1. Modified 3.41 PUP
2. Lv2Diag.self (File 1)
6. These must be the only files on the USB key and must be placed in the main (root) directory.
7. Insert flash drive into the last USB port to the right — the first USB port in from the right side if you’re facing the console. Turn the PS3 on and you will see black screen but the PS3 HDD light will flash.
8. The process takes 3-4 minutes for the system to install the old firmware. Towards the end, the power button on the console will start flashing green and then your console will power off.
9. Remove the flash drive and turn on the console, you will still be in Factory Service Mode. Please verify you have downgraded successfully to version 3.41 by going to "System Information".
10. (Optional) – If you wish to downgrade to any older firmware you can follow step 4, 5, 6 using any regular firmware PUP. (You do not need to use modified custom firmware now that you are on 3.41).
11. Insert USB flash drive back into your PC and delete the PUP and Lv2Diag.self file (File 1) and copy the other Lv2Diag.self (File 2) to the root of the flash drive.
12. Insert USB flash drive back into the same USB port on the PS3 and power on your PS3. After 10 seconds it will power off.
13. Remove USB flash drive and turn on your console again. You will be out of factory service mode and back in retail mode with your chosen firmware version installed. You will need to go through setting up settings configuration.

...Hope its not just another jailbreak clone ...this downgrade is software sure it wont be loaded on for legal reasons

how do you mean a jb clone? and yes its software but hey ho if it works on my 3.42 then I am happy...

Sargie could you do a little list of software I will need other than the jb software, there are loads in the tools sticky but not sure which I need. I have external hdd I can use if need be.

I was also reading some games need spoofing? to enable them to play,

Sure m8.

The process is this you use a file to progrma the e3 into a downgrader. That puts your ps3 into service mode. you then use a fat 32 usb to load the older firmware takes about 2-3 minutes.

E3 site is down atm but as soon as ive got the files ill upload them and post here.

I grabbed them all off there site lol had an idea it might go down lol

What software do I need on the ps3 seen a couple of loaders etc but unsure which is best.

was looking at how to change the files to allow the 3.42's to be played on 3.41 etc so sure I will ask more questions later when I get it hehe

with the e3 mate do you know if you still need a pen drive or if can you use a mini sd in the dongle, cheers.
