iMac Dual booting

Hi guys please if I'm n the wrong section can you move it.
I have been reading about dual booting,I have never used Mac os only an iPhone,I was thinking about buying a Mac book laptop and wanted to see if I could get used to the os first,can I dual boot and if so how do I go about doing this?how do I install the software and where do I get it from?
I have at the minute a Sony viao laptop running windows 7,any help or advice much appreciated

dont worry about dual booting its takes an hour or two to get used to the way os works no right click and the like and the short cuts using the apple button. after that its very easy to use.. when i first got my pro found it strange to say the least but now it piss's over any other lap top i have had over the years. take alook on sites for software i have never payed for a thing they just install running lion with windows office11 and using chrome for web and did not pay a penny for them, and no silly cracks keygens to piss about with, just unrar and run the dmg file happy days.

OSX will probably not run on your laptop if I have understood you right

If you want to see what its like go to the apple store near you and have a play, choose a quiet time i.e. first thing and they will talk you into buying one
