dreambox 500s jtag

can anyone advise me a bit on this, i have bricked two dm500s clones over the last few months, due to bad flash from using flashwizard.

cant log into boxes as they have no ip,s. jtag is the only solution to restore the bootloaders.

what i need to know, is can i use my old cable box jtag? and if so, does anyone have the info of which numbers the wires go to on the board?

Would this be correct? found it elsewhere.

VCC = 1
TRST= 3
TDI = 7
TCK = 11
TMS = 9
VCC = 16

lol, never quite understood jtag, i was spoonfed a bit when cable was around.

Have you tried to flash your boxes with a RS232 and just DCC or Dream Up !!!!

yeah mate, ive tried everything, thing is, they have no ip, so you cant connect them to dcc. dreamup doesnt find thene box either, ive gone through every version there is of dreamup lol.

from what ive read, jtag is the only way back for them!

as i said, i used to be able to jtag in the cable days, but it was nmade a bit easier then really wasnt it, with ready made progs and simple follow me tuts.

i do want to have a crack it it tbh, just need to know if i can use the jtag i have from the old days, or will i build a new one.

Well your better then me cos Ive never J-Tagged anything in my life lol, Here is a J-TAG pic for a DM 500 though with pin details.

thanks a lot for that mate, the diagram youve posted seems to back up my theory, im just going to give it a go with the jtag as it is now.
